we had a lot of fun this year. cameron was so thoughtful in his gifts--he gave me a pearl necklace, a beautiful coat (which i did not think i was getting), and a "coupon" for a new camera. he made me a scavenger hunt around the house and wrote a bunch of poems to get me to the next clue. it was so much fun. i cried when i read the poem he wrote me that said i could use the money we got for financial aid for a new camera (since we already had school paid for). i have been saving up for a new camera for years, but never actually purchased one. for the past 5 years mom and dad have been giving me money for a camera as well, but i have always told myself that a new one would be coming out soon or that i should save more money and get an even nicer one. so, cameron forced me to get one (which was much appreciated) by writing on the coupon that i only had one month to decide on a camera and get it purchased. we purchased the camera, and absolutely love it! santa got me tons and tons of my favorite candy (like hot tamales, red hots, milka, and tropical life savers).
santa gave cameron aladdin, sweet cereal that his mean wife does not usually purchase for him, lots of candy, a beanie, and lunch at fong's (a chinese restaurant that he loves, but that his wife won't eat at). I gave him a photobook that i designed with pictures from our honeymoon in florida. i could not believe how much he loved it! i also gave him a first edition hugh nibley book, some squeeze-its, and a lot of clothes (of course)!
it was so much fun to wake up christmas morning and open presents with each other. after we had out little christmas, we went to visit our families. we opened presents with our knapp family--we gave shawnee and ryan an ipod dock/alarm, shante' some shoes, picture frames, and fuzzy socks, burke a wii game, and dad some cologne. our favorite present to give was what we gave mom knapp--a bunch of old playschool and fisher price toys (which she collects). it was so much fun to watch her open them! we owe carol a huge thanks for making this gift happen!
after we opened gifts, we attempted to go to the larsen residency. we ended up getting stuck in the snow a few times, but made it there safe. mom and dad gave us our presents, and we gave them our gift--a framed picture of us from our wedding. they loved it! we then went back to knapp house for a while and hung out. we then headed to ashton for christmas dinner and the gift exchange. it was a lot of fun! we also stopped at aunt amber's house on the way. what a great first christmas!
